Joe Hart can use Celtic revival to keep England dream alive insists former Three Lions star

Celtic keeper Joe Hart has been urged to never give up on his dream of an England recall.

Former Manchester City team-mate Trevor Sinclair has been knocked out by the Parkhead No. 1’s form since moving north after three years in the English wilderness with Manchester City, Burnley and Spurs.

The Parkhead goalie last played for his country in November 2017, keeping a clean sheet in a friendly against Brazil on his 75th appearance

He missed out on the 2018 World Cup finals and hasn’t been considered by Gareth Southgate since.

But ex-England winger Sinclair reckons, on the back of his stunning Celtic displays, Hart shouldn’t give up hope of a national team recall.

Hart is on top form with Ange Postecoglou’s side as they chase a domestic Treble.

And the keeper will clinch a Champions League platform to advertise his veteran talents in 2022/23 if Celtic win the Scottish Premiership title in the next few weeks.

Sinclair, who was capped 12 times for England and starred at the 2002 World Cup Finals in Japan, is a massive Celtic fan.

He’s been thrilled that Hart, 35 on Tuesday, is showing international class at Parkhead.

Sinclair said: “Joe has certainly put himself right up there with the top keepers in Scotland this season.

“He’s got all the experience and, you never know, that England door might not be completely closed.

“Stranger things have happened. Particularly if he is playing Champions League next year - let’s hope so.”

Southgate has started Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale and Sam Johnstone this season alone.
