Joao Cancelo posts pre-season message amid Man City uncertainty
Joao Cancelo has become the first Manchester City player to post on social media after the beginning of pre-season training - sending a message about 'forgetting the rest'.
Cancelo left City in January after falling out of favour and opted to join Bayern Munich on loan rather than fight for his place. Bayern opted against taking up an option to make the move permanent, leaving Cancelo in an uncertain position regarding his future.
City appear to have moved away from a system that relies on full-backs, so Cancelo may struggle to play regularly if he remains at the Etihad. Alternatively, he could still leave in the transfer window - either permanently or on loan - but for the time being he will be expected to link up with the senior squad for the pre-season tour this week.
No players have posted about pre-season since their return on Monday, and no footage or photos have been released by the club, so Cancelo's post makes him the first to take to social media this week. However, the Portuguese's post makes no mention of City, and instead has a cryptic message.

Cancelo had been training before City reported back, joining international teammate and Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes in a camp alongside Declan Rice and Rafael Leao.
His post took footage from that camp, with Cancelo wearing a Portugal national team training kit, and was accompanied by the cryptic caption: "Believe in yourself and forget the rest. Pre-season [on]."
City fly out to Japan on Wednesday, where fans may discover which players have made the squad for the pre-season tour of Asia.
Cancelo, if included, would be one of a number of first-team
