Jim Goodwin showed Aberdeen 'inexperience' with Ryan Porteous blast as Dons boss told he'll live to regret it

Kris Commons reckons Jim Goodwin showed his "inexperience" in hitting out at Ryan Porteous following Aberdeen's defeat to Hibs.

The Dons boss is facing potential SFA action as he let rip at the Hibs defender and the officials, insisting Porteous had conned them to win a penalty that also saw Liam Scales sent off. The Easter Road side went on to record a comfortable 3-1 home victory as Martin Boyle converted the spot-kick and Josh Campbell struck twice in the second-half.

After a livid Goodwin slaughtered Porteous and branded him a cheat, it's understood Hibs bosses contacted Aberdeen to complain. The Pittodrie gaffer could now be in line for a touchline ban with the SFA set to examine his post-match comments. Pundit and former Celtic star Commons reckons Goodwin may just live to regret the outburst. He wrote in his Daily Mail column: " Jim Goodwin showed his inexperience as a manager with his post-match comments about Ryan Porteous at Easter Road."

Commons continued: "Most managers would normally go into the post-match press conference and say they were disappointed by the penalty decision and possibly not want to comment any further in case they got in trouble. However, Goodwin is still coming across like the tough-tackling midfielder from his playing days when he always wore his heart on his sleeve.

"It was unfair to brand Porteous a diver. That's a big statement to make about a player. You are basically saying someone is a cheat. That somebody has conned you out of a point or all three points.
