'Jet2 put my life in danger - I'm never going to fly with them again'

A holidaymaker says she was left fearing for her life after crew members on her Jet2 flight refused to stop selling items she was deathly allergic to.

Chloe Fitzpatrick suffers from a severe airborne strawberry allergy which could potentially prove fatal if she comes into contact with products that contain strawberries. During her flight to Ibiza from Manchester Airport on August 18, she informed the cabin crew of her allergy, however she says they continued to sell items such as daiquiris, fruit pastilles, and rose wine.

The 24-year-old said she felt 'discriminated against' when the products that could have triggered anaphylactic shock were still being sold. Jet2 say their terms and conditions state that a severe allergy should be made aware to the team at the time of booking and, in this instance, did not happen.

Chloe, who was on the flight with her sister Lucy, says cabin crew made an announcement to inform passengers of her allergy and told them not to consume strawberry products on the plane. But she claims Jet2 continued to sell these items from the food trolley during the flight.

Chloe said: "If I had a reaction, I'd go into anaphylactic shock and my airways would start closing and I could die."

She added: "This was also extremely distressing and heartbreaking for my sister too, who was terrified that I could go into anaphylactic shock, rendering me unconscious and could potentially die in front of her. She felt absolutely helpless.
