Jesse Marsch sends Patrick Vieira classy message ahead of Crystal Palace vs Leeds clash

Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has sent Patrick Vieira a classy message after the Eagles manager was officially welcomed into the Premier League Hall of Fame this week.

Vieira, who won three league titles and five FA Cups during his playing days in England with Arsenal and Manchester City, was joined by Vincent Kompany, Wayne Rooney and Ian Wright at a ceremony in London last Thursday. The group are also joined by Paul Scholes, Didier Drogba, Sergio Aguero and Peter Schmeichel, taking the total number of inductees to 16 since the Hall of Fame first emerged in 2021.

Marsch and Vieira are yet to go toe to toe in the Premier League but will get their chance on Monday at Selhurst Park. The pair have already faced each other in the MLS, contesting the Hudson River derby while Marsch was at New York Red Bulls and Vieira at New York City FC at the beginning of their managerial careers.

Those fixtures – especially one in 201 6 – could get quite fiery, with neither coach holding back in their opinion of one another and their respective teams during their time Stateside. Thankfully, those tensions appeared to have cooled right down now, with Vieira insisting there was no animosity between the duo during his pre-match press conference on Friday morning.

Marsch has also seemingly left the feud in the past, sending Vieira a classy message after the Frenchman was inducted into the Hall of Fame, before making a prediction on how he thinks his managerial career could flourish in years to come.
