Jeremy Doku sets aim after blistering start to Man City career

Jeremy Doku is hoping to keep creating goals for his teammates after a great start to life at Manchester City.

The young winger has become an immediate fan-favourite among City supporters thanks to his explosive and exciting attacking play. Pep Guardiola has been left impressed with how well he's playing so soon after his summer transfer and he has even nudged Jack Grealish out of the starting XI.

Doku enjoyed a great performance against Brighton on Saturday and teed up the opening goal of the win with a great run before laying off Julian Alvarez to score. It was his second assist for the club, along with two goals, and he has his sights set on more.

"It was a nice shot [from Erling] - from nowhere," Doku said. "We all know his qualities so I’m not really surprised -
I know he’s a goalscorer and I know he will always score.

"We can always count on him. Besides the goal, he was also very important for us - keeping the ball in difficult situations, he had a great game.

"It’s the same for Julian too - a nice goal and I’m happy he scored with my assist. Hopefully we can keep going like this."

New City signings, especially forwards, tend to take time to bed into Guardiola's system but Doku has faced no such trouble so far. Yet, he still wants to keep learning to get even better.

"I’m starting to learn when to go and when not to go in the moments. Today, it was successful, and I had a nice assist. I think I could have had a couple of goals from some shots that were off target.
