Jason Momoa's DC universe return confirmed as fans say 'it's about time'

Jason Momoa has excitedly announced his return to the DC Universe, but this time he won't be reprising his role as Aquaman.

Instead, he's set to portray Lobo in the forthcoming 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow' film, which will feature 'House of Dragon' actress Milly Alcock as Supergirl.

Momoa shared the thrilling update on Instagram, referencing a past interview snippet where he expressed his desire to play the beloved comic book character. "So Lobo was... I collect comics, and I don't do so much anymore, but he was always my favourite, and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I'm like, 'Hello? It's the perfect role.'" the excerpt read.

He continued, "I mean, listen. If they call and ask me to play him, it's a f**k yeah. I haven't received that call, so I don't want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I'm there."

Momoa humorously captioned his post with "They called" confirming his new role and sending fans into a frenzy.

On Reddit, fans shared their enthusiasm. One user commented, "At last, the DC role he was made for," while another concurred, "Born to play it.", reports the Express.

Another fan reminisced, "Remember all those years ago Jason posted a video of himself running out of a meeting with Gunn (right after James became head of Creative at DC) excited as hell, like he was the happiest he's ever been? ".

The fan concluded, "This was it. He's been patiently waiting and James delivered Lobo to him; I cannot wait for his performance so happy for him! ! ".

Another fan excitedly commented: "It's about time," while yet another added: "This is one of those times when a perfect casting opportunity is present for a character that you got to use him now.
