Jamie Oliver's touching tribute to Michael Mosley as body found

Jamie Oliver has shared a touching tribute to Michael Mosley after a body was found in the search for the TV doctor. Dr Mosley vanished near a hiking trail on the Greek island of Symi on Wednesday (June 4) resulting in a huge rescue operation over several days.

On Sunday (June 9), it was confirmed that a body had been found. Symi's mayor said the body is believed to be that of Dr Mosley.

Taking to Instagram shortly after the news broke, Jamie penned a heartfelt statement, the Mirror reports. The TV chef wrote: "Rest in peace Michael Mosley…. Absolutely devastating news about the sad loss of fellow tv presenter Michael Mosley today.

"What a wonderfully sweet, kind and gentle man he was. he did such a lot of good for public health with his TV shows and research. He was a curious investigator, producer and presenter and often changed the conversation around many public health issues for the better. He will be sadly missed….love and thoughts to Claire and all of his family."

The famous chef's followers were devastated to hear the news, with one person writing in response: "Such sad, shocking news!" Another wrote: "Utterly heartbreaking." Other comments included: "Oh no! So very tragic!" and, "This is so sad."

Fellow TV presenter and former Strictly star Ranvir Singh also shared her devastation after a body was found in the search for Dr Mosley. Posting on Instagram, she wrote: "Terribly sad news. Thank you for changing the lives of thousands of people - including mine - for the better."

The TV doctor was spotted walking through the town of Pedi on the Aegean island of Symi on Wednesday at 1.52pm, around 20
