Jamie O'Hara predicts Rangers doom for Gio as he insists Celtic boss Ange has 'killed him'

Jamie O'Hara reckons Rangers are "miles off" Celtic and will never win the title under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The pundit and former Tottenham midfielder has delivered a brutal verdict on the Ibrox club's prospects under the Dutchman, insisting he's better suited to European football than the rigours of domestic action. Van Bronckhorst led Rangers to last season's Europa League Final, losing on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt, and also won the Scottish Cup.

But Rangers surrendered a six-point Premiership lead to allow Ange Postecoglou 's Celtic reclaim the league crown in a dramatic second half of the campaign. The Ibrox men are already on the back foot in this season's race to the flag after being battered 4-0 at Celtic Park earlier in September. And O'Hara believes they'll never become champions again with Van Bronckhorst in the dugout. He told Grosvenor Sport : “Rangers won’t stop Celtic this season, they’re miles off. I don’t think Van Bronckhorst will ever win the Scottish title.

"He’s more suited to European football. He’s a European manager that sets his team up like a European side. When they play in Scotland they struggle. Ange is the real deal at Celtic and that’s killed him.”

O'Hara was speaking alongside podcast host and Open Goal Broomhill manager Si Ferry, who reckons Van Bronckhorst has excellent tactical nous but lacks the charisma to be a Rangers manager, pointing to predecessor Steven Gerrard as an example.

Ferry said: “I think he’s a very good manager tactically, but what he’s not got for me is the charisma or personality to be a Rangers manager. That’s where I think there’s a disconnect with him. All the best managers have both sides to them. I wouldn’t look at him and think he inspires me,
