Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou skyrockets up world's best manager list as Steven Gerrard crashes out top 50

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been ranked the 30th best manager in the world by Four Four Two.

The Australian has turned heads at Parkhead and earned acclaim for securing Scottish Premiership title glory amid his mammoth Parkhead rebuild after the team he inherited finished 25 points behind Rangers. The 57-year-old has earned plaudits for his side's thrilling brand of football despite yet to secure a win upon their return to the Champions League. Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst has dropped three places despite leading Rangers to the Europa League Final and securing a return to dine at European football's top table this season.

Writing about Postecoglou, Four Four Two said: "The appointment of Ange Postecoglou drew some puzzling looks from some – especially after Eddie Howe's "will he, won't he" Celtic saga. But it's a different story for Steven Gerrard with the under-fire Aston Villa boss suffering an astonishing crash out the top 50 entirely. The former Rangers boss was riding high last season in 17th place but the Villans' wonky form and strain over his future in the Midlands sees him miss the cut.
