Jamie Carragher pinpoints where Erik ten Hag has impacted Manchester United squad

Jamie Carragher has picked out the key impact that Erik ten Hag is having on his Manchester United squad.

United made it four Premier League wins in a row on Sunday, as they beat Mikel Arteta's side 3-1 at Old Trafford. A debut goal from Antony was followed up with two second-half goals from Marcus Rashford as United put a stop to Arsenal's perfect start to the season.

Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes both showed off their impressive passing range during the match, claiming an assist each. The Dane's most noticeable contribution however, was a perfectly weighted pass that bypassed a handful of Arsenal's midfield and defence to pick out Fernandes, who in turn gave the ball to Rashford before Antony applied the finishing touch.

Arsenal had been in fine form ahead of the match and the win shows how far United have come since losing to Brighton and Brentford in their first two games under Ten Hag. The partnership of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez at the back continues to flourish.

Carragher has highlighted the passion and energy of Ten Hag's defensive unit, as he praised the manager for the way he has adapted to life in the Premier League after a difficult start.

He told the Overlap: "You sort of see them high-fiving don’t you when someone makes a clearance or they make a block. When you’re saying there’s fight in the Manchester United team now, you saw it at the start against Liverpool, what I would say is the games have been completely different that you [United] have won to the first two.
