Jamie Carragher has been proven right about Manchester United's signing of Jadon Sancho

When Jadon Sancho completed his big-money move to Manchester United last summer, the England international was signed in a bid to solve the club's long-term search for a right-sided winger.

United, who will resume their Premier League campaign on April 2 against Leicester City at Old Trafford, had been tracking Sancho for several years and were determined to get their man. He was identified as their number one target to become their first choice right-winger for the future.

However, it is on the left flank where the 21-year-old has impressed most so far this season. He has scored two league goals and registered three assists in 2022 and all of those contributions have come from the left. Those figures, however, will have come as no surprise to former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.

That is because the Sky Sports pundit, when revealing his predictions for this season back in August, admitted that he felt Sancho is just as capable of performing to the best of his abilities on the left as he is on the right. He had analysed his numbers and based his prediction on his findings.
