Jamie Carragher continues to be hammered in Argentina over Lionel Messi decision

An Argentinian football manager and former player has put the boot into Jamie Carragher after the Liverpool legend revealed Lionel Messi called him a donkey in an Instagram message.

The soccer pundit went public with the message on Friday Night Football after Watford ’s defeat by Norwich, saying he wouldn’t be showing it but insisting the former Barcelona striker had insulted him after he questioned his move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Carragher went on to profess his love and admiration for the “greatest player of all time.”

Gorosito, who now manages Gimnasia La Plata where Diego Maradona was in charge until his death from heart failure in November 2020, used the expression: ‘pedazo de tronco’ to describe Carragher which literally translates as ‘big piece of wood’ and is the equivalent of branding someone as talentless.

The former Argentinian international’s tweet to his 69,400 followers went viral, despite the fact he appeared to forget Carragher’s honours with Liverpool include two FA Cups and one Champions League in a career spanning 17 years in which he gained 38 senior England caps.

Gorosito, better known as Pipo Gorosito, has been one of Messi’s best allies off the football pitch following earlier attacks by compatriots who called his loyalty to Argentina into question before the striker shut them up by helping his country to an historic Copa America win over
