James Tavernier leads Rangers trio in Europa League team of the season as Frankfurt dominate the XI

A trio of Rangers players have been included in the Europa League team of the season after an impressive campaign.

Gio van Bronckhorst's men made a surprise run to Seville seeing off heavyweights like Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig along the way.

Eintracht Frankfurt proved to be a step too far with the Bundesliga side winning on penalties.

However, the achievements of the squad were still marked by UEFA after the fairytale run.

Captain Tavernier made the team having led his side to the final while also finishing at the Europa League 's top scorer with seven goals.

Calvin Bassey and Ryan Kent also earned their spot after playing key roles in the journey for the finalists.

Winners Frankfurt had the most players in the XI with final scorer Rafael Borre and penalty hero Kevin Trapp being joined by defender Martin Hinteregger and winger Filip Kostic.

West Ham duo Declan Rice and Craig Dawson were also included, alongside RB Leipzig stars Konrad Laimer and Christopher Nkunku.
