Leicester City owner and chairman Khun Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has been in attendance at pre-season training this week as Brendan Rodgers’ squad steps up their preparations.
The first batch of players returned to training on Monday as they put in the work ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League season. City start their pre-season campaign next weekend when they take on Notts County in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the club’s training ground.
City are yet to make any signings in the summer transfer window but are expected to add to their squad before the end of the summer. Writing in the final matchday programme of the season , the chairman, affectionately known as Khun Top, said that work is always being done on potential transfers.
“Options and opportunities to strengthen the squad is something our football and recruitment department are constantly looking at, not just during the summer,” he wrote. “That may lead to some trading for us to improve the squad, which is a process I've always been happy to support for the good of the club.”
While work goes on off the field, Rodgers and his coaching staff have been putting the players through their paces; Khun Top has been pictured casting an eye over the work. And it seems that the chairman is keen to get involved himself with a video shared on the club’s Instagram channel showing Khun Top complete a number of keepie-uppies while watching from the sidelines.
The show of skill prompted a response from James Maddison, the midfielder writing: “Sign him up” in the comments section of the post. He’s not the only one on social media who have noticed the chairman’s skills, with Maddison’s request replicated by fans on both Twitter and Instagram.
