James Maddison and Jamie Vardy were among the Leicester City players to send a message to fans just over 24 hours after the club’s Europa Conference League exit.

With the score locked at 1-1 after the first leg at the King Power Stadium, City went to Rome knowing that it was a winner-takes-all affair in front of a crowd of 70,000. Tammy Abraham’s headed goal in the 11th minute proved to be the undoing for Brendan Rodgers’ side as they fell to a 1-0 defeat.

Despite City dominating possession, they were unable to find an equaliser on the night, meaning that Roma progressed to the final. Emotions ran high at the full-time whistle, with City defender Wesley Fofana on the verge of tears and having to be consoled by Vardy and Rodgers as he saluted the 3,500 travelling fans.

After the raw emotion had died down, around 24 hours after the full-time whistle, City players started taking to social media to give their reaction and send a message to the fans. Vardy and Maddison were among those to post.
