Jake Connor claims Super League award after finding top form with Hull FC

Jake Connor has won the Super League Player of the Month award for March after a superb month for The Black and Whites won two of their four league games in March with wins coming over Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants and Connor was instrumental in both.

The full-back scored two tries in the clash at Headingley, embarrassing the Rhinos’ defensive line to touch down before producing a fine performance on home soil against the Giants. It follows on from his terrific February form, as he shot to the top of the league’s assist charts.

The 27-year-old has claimed 12 assists and three tries so far this season, meaning he has been directly involved in more tries than any other player in the competition.

Connor was one of six players nominated for the award, fighting off competition from Wigan Warriors' Jai Field, Toulouse Olympique playmaker Tony Gigot, Mason Lino of Wakefield Trinity, Catalans Dragons’ Mike McMeeken and his former FC teammate Joe Westerman, who is now plying his trade with Castleford Tigers.

The Black and Whites take on Hull KR on Good Friday as they turn their attentions back to the league following last weekend’s cup clash at the John Smith’s Stadium and Connor will be keen to take centre stage once more.
