Jadon Sancho exit route emerges as Man United push £51m transfer breakthrough

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are mulling over a potential swap deal that would see Jadon Sancho and Manuel Ugarte head in opposite directions this summer. That's according to reports from The Independent as speculation over both players continues to mount with the deadline in sight.

After striking up deals for Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee this summer - setting themselves back £140million-plus in the process - United are intending to snap-up another defensive midfielder by 11pm on August 30 amid lingering question marks over Casemiro's squad status.

However, key figures upstairs need to sanction further sales to make that particular wish happen. The Manchester Evening News understands Ugarte, Martin Zubimendi, Adrien Rabiot and former loanee Sofyan Amrabat were four names being 'monitored' this summer, while Sander Berge from Burnley has since emerged as an alternative option.

Despite lingering concerns over his valuation, though, Ugarte is the preferred choice. PSG are said to want around £51million for the Uruguay international, which has forced them to consider Sancho as a bargaining chip.

The Independent reckon United and PSG are attempting to 'unlock a deal' that will work for all parties. Sancho has been re-integrated into the first-team squad by United this summer - following a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag last season - but still faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford as a sellable asset.
