Jadon Sancho contract clause puts Man United boss Ruben Amorim in very difficult position
Jadon Sancho appears to be hitting his stride at Chelsea, a development that is likely causing some consternation for Manchester United and Ruben Amorim due to what now seems like a contractual oversight.
The 24-year-old's promising career seemed to be stalling after his high-profile transfer to United in July 2021. Having won domestic titles and numerous individual awards with Borussia Dortmund, the young Englishman was expected to elevate his career further upon his move to Old Trafford.
However, a difficult start escalated into a full-blown crisis as the £73million prodigy found himself excluded from the first team by former United manager Erik ten Hag, following a series of public disagreements. A loan return to Dortmund for the second half of last season appeared to reinvigorate the winger, but he soon found himself back at United and in search of a new club.

Chelsea, under Enzo Maresca, made waves over the summer with a lavish spending spree exceeding £200m. Their deadline day loan acquisition of Sancho largely went unnoticed until the former Manchester City youth player provided an assist for the Blues on his Premier League debut against Bournemouth.
Sancho has made 10 appearances for Maresca's team this season, contributing two goals and five assists as Chelsea currently sit second in the Premier League. United manager Amorim will be frustrated to discover that the Blues also have an option to purchase Sancho for a reduced fee of between £20-£25m, provided they finish at least 14th in the league.
