Jaden Brown set for St Mirren transfer as former Tottenham defender in line for debut against Rangers
Jaden Brown is set to sign for St Mirren on loan from Lincoln City.
The left-back is ready to travel north to complete his move to the Buddies and the 25-year-old is expected to go straight into Stephen Robinson’s first-team for their weekend clash with Rangers, subject to international clearance. Brown moved to Lincoln in the summer but the change of manager has opened the door for Robinson to make his move. He came through the youth ranks at Tottenham but has made a name for himself in his spells with Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday, in the English Championship and League One.
Brown has a solid pedigree and adds experience and quality. Robinson has been keen to add to his full-back options after Southampton recalled Thierry Small. Saints have been active in this window as the board have given Robinson funds to really strengthen and push for a second consecutive top six finish and what they hope can be a European push.
Brown will become St Mirren's fourth January signing. They have brought in James Scott and Elvis Bwomono so far in the January window as well as midfielder Hyeokku Kwon on loan from Celtic.
