Jack Hendry completes post Celtic redemption story as he celebrates title winning strike in classic Scottish style

Buzzing Jack Hendry says it feels good to be a champion again after scoring the goal that won Club Brugge the Belgian title.

The Scotland star has reinvented himself since leaving Celtic for the continent but his redemption story hasn't been without its tribulations.

After joining Brugge from Oostende in the summer, he has had to be patient and publicly vented his frustrations at manager Philippe Clement upon his axeing from the team in February.

Recently though he has forced his way back into the side and he helped inspire a comeback win over Antwerp that clinched the title on Sunday.

His 64th minute strike put them in front after Hans Vanaken had cancelled out Michael Frey's opener and they went on to win 3-1, enough to seal the league with a game to spare.

It's Hendry's first league title since he was a bit part player under Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon in 2018/19.

He admits it's been a long road but insists he's in a good place now and is looking forward to a well-earned post match drink.

He said after the game: "It feels good to be champion. I was with Celtic years ago.

"It was nice to score the decisive goal. It has not been easy for me in the past few months. But I have learned a lot from that period. I continued to do my best and it feels good to score now.

"We will now celebrate properly. What does a Scot do when he celebrates? Drink, eh."
