Jack Grealish has just won a treble, but he is already desperate for more trophies, starting with the Community Shield.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell since his £100million move from Aston Villa two years ago to City, but there is one trophy that has evaded him in that time. City have tasted defeat in the traditional season opener in both seasons since Grealish signed, losing to Leicester at Wembley in 2021 and to Liverpool at the King Power Stadium a year ago.

The England international came off the bench in the last-minute defeat to the Foxes two years ago and started as his side lost against rivals Liverpool last year. Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to end their losing streak when they face Premier League runners-up Arsenal at Wembley next week, and Grealish is desperate to finally win the one honour that has evaded him so far at City.

Guardiola gives update on Ake injury scare

Pep Guardiola has eased injury fears over Nathan Ake after he limped out of City's 2-1 over Bayern Munich.

The Dutch defender kept his place in defence for City's second summer friendly in Tokyo. However, he was substituted in the first half after going down off the ball and holding the bottom of his leg.

Ake was able to continue while City readied a substitute, and walked off unaided as Manu Akanji replaced him. He was later seen walking around and mingling with teammates, further easing any fears of a longer-lasting injury.
