Jack Grealish has golden chance to justify £100m fee in Man City's final three game
From the moment he signed for Manchester City, Jack Grealish had one thing on his mind — trophies.
Grealish had got close to major silverware with Aston Villa, but knew the best they could hope for was one of the domestic cups. When they reached the Carabao Cup final, he could only pick up a runner-up medal as City continued their all-conquering march to domestic dominance in 2020. When he got to the FA Cup final in 2015, after a starring role in the semi-final as a teenager, Arsenal turned over Villa 4-0. He also missed out amid the agony of England's Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.
So upon moving to City, Grealish was keen to make up for lost time with a winner's medal of something a bit more high profile than a Championship play-off final. He's three games away from winning the biggest prize in England at the first attempt.

Grealish made no secret of his desire to play in the Champions League, and made a goalscoring debut in the competition, but struggled for games during City's run to the semi-finals. He didn't start any knockout game, and was restricted to substitute appearances — although he nearly scored a match-winning goal late on at the Bernabeu.
He couldn't help a weakened City side from losing in the Community Shield on his City debut, and was helpless as City lost to West Ham in the Carabao Cup — scoring a penalty in the shoot-out but still finishing on the losing side. In the FA Cup, Grealish went close early on in the semi-final with Liverpool, who were ultimately too strong for a much-changed City side.
