Jack Grealish has already told Man City how to get the best out of him
Slowly but surely, Manchester City are starting to see the Jack Grealish they paid £100million for. His Manchester derby masterclass was undoubtedly his best performance in a City shirt after a slow start, and backed up the messages from Pep Guardiola about his supposed poor form.
Guardiola has insisted that Grealish is performing well, despite a considerable decrease on his goals and assists at Aston Villa. The manager has also stressed that Grealish is a signing for the next few years, and will need time to adapt. It might be taking longer than hoped, but this week City finally saw more glimpses of the player they broke the British transfer record to sign.
Grealish has been upfront about his lack of goals, admitting that he wants more. When he joined up with England in the last fortnight, he also spoke about trying to get those statistics up - even if Guardiola is more than happy with his statistics in every other department.

Tellingly, Grealish spoke about his love of playing for England and the comfort he feels with the Three Lions after helping them to a 3-0 win over Ivory Coast. Grealish was a threat throughout, setting up Raheem Sterling for his goal, tempting Serge Aurier into two stupid yellow cards, and delighting a crowd that was supporting him throughout.
On one hand, Grealish plays in a different system for England, as he's tasked with playing directly and trying to make something happen. It's more like the system he excelled at for Aston Villa, whereas for City the focus is more about patient, passing build-up where Grealish is one of many cogs in a relentless system.
