Jack Grealish ends derby day with a smile after flooring Casemiro in Man City thrashing of Manchester United

Jack Grealish may have looked annoyed at being substituted in Manchester City’s 6-3 thumping on Manchester United on Sunday but he was all smiles by the end of the day.

The 27-year-old did not score or assist but was taken off to rapturous applause after a stylish display, during which he had left United summer signing Casemiro scrambling on the floor in one passage.

The England star showed a bit of samba skill in front of the Brazilian - who had come off the United bench for a fifth game since arriving from Real Madrid - rolling the ball from his grasp to send him sprawling on the deck.

Grealish ended the day by sharing a snap of himself with two friends tucking into a takeaway, captioning the Instagram story: “Great day at the office. Finish it off with a Chinese.”

The attacker produced his promising derby performance on the back of a trying period. Some City fans had become frustrated with his play on the wing, arguing he was lacking in end product while some voiced frustration after a fruitless outing against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

But Grealish bounced back to net against Wolves a few days later, prior to the international break. And his efforts against United were greeted fondly by many, including boss Pep Guardiola.

When asked about hat-trick hero Erling Haaland after the match, the City manager responded: "Not just him. Look at Jack Grealish today, how good he played.

"Kevin [De Bruyne], and [Ilkay] Gundogan - come back in his position as holding midfielder that he started years ago. They're humble and they follow us.”
