IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White makes shock Dynamite appearance

Last night’s AEW Dynamite was packed with surprises, and one of the biggest of all came from the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White, who made a shocking appearance. 

Jay White has recently been crowned the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion after defeating and dethroning Kazuchika Okada at NJPW’s Dominion Pay-Per-View last Sunday.

With the Interim AEW World Championship up for grabs between Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi, it is likely that the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will also feature at the event.

However, White’s opponent is still unknown with a week and a half until Forbidden Door. 

Last night on Dynamite there was a segment involving former AEW World Champion Adam Page who made his intentions clear last week that he wants to face Kazuchika Okada and wanted the bout to be for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Page wants to reclaim gold but also beat The Rainmaker which only a couple have men have managed to do over the years.

Hangman would be interrupted by Adam Cole who wanted the IWGP Heavyweight Championship himself. 

What we do know is that Jay White will be the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion going into Forbidden Door and the catalyst of professional wrestling shut down Adam Page’s quest for the IWGP by planting him with a Blade Runner in the centre of the ring. 

White would then follow up by shockingly rejecting Adam Cole’s challenge which could indicate that White does have an opponent in mind. It is unknown who this person could be but fan speculation could indicate that White’s opponent could be former rival and arguably the best wrestler in the world, Kenny Omega.
