Ivan Lepinjica 'doesn't rule out' Rangers move as Rijeka star opens up on future

Ivan Lepinjica has refused to rule out a move to Rangers this summer, with Wolves also interested in the Rijeka star.

The Ibrox side have been quiet in the transfer market so far with only Hearts and Scotland defender John Souttar signing up so far on a pre-contract agreement. However, they have been linked with plenty of players across Europe and 22-year-old midfield enforcer Lepinjica has been tipped for a move to Scotland after an excellent season for the Croatian club.

Premier League side Wolves have also been linked with the Croatian Under 21s international, who came through the club's academy in his home city in the Balkans. And he revealed he's waiting to see if either Rangers or Wolves follow up their initial interest in him.

Lepinjica said: "I won't think too much about leaving until a concrete offer comes in. I am focused on my preparations for the new season and I want to do them as well as possible. For me, the aim is to be better than last season and to play more games and be better.

"At the beginning of every new season, I always go into it with an ambition to make this 'my season.' Whoever I play for, I hope this will be the case. Which league would I prefer to play in? Every one of the big five European leagues are great competitions, but we will see."

Lepinjica made 26 appearances for his club last season and has successful experience of playing against Scottish teams as he featured in European wins over Aberdeen and Hibs.
