Antonio Colak to Rangers confirmed as Croatian makes title vow to 'incredible fans'

Rangers have announced the signing of striker Antonio Colak from Greek side PAOK on a three-year deal, with the option of a fourth year available.

Rumours that the Croatian striker was destined for Ibrox have been rife over the last couple of weeks but the former Rijeka forward has now put pen to paper on a long-term Glasgow stay. He helps bolster their forward line after news that Joe Aribo is set to depart for English Premier League side Southampton, with the aim this season of looking to reclaim the Premiership title after Celtic won it last season.

Colak said of his arrival: “I am really, really happy to sign for Rangers. I have played in front of those incredible fans already, and now I want to experience on my own what it is like to be a part of this huge club, to win titles and to achieve every target the club has."

Boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst said: “He is a very experienced player who has played at high levels and scored a lot of goals for the teams he has played for."

Sporting Director Ross Wilson added: “Welcome to Antonio, we are delighted to have him join our squad. I know how much Gio and the staff are looking forward to working with him on the pitch.”

The undisclosed fee is thought to be in the region of £1.8 million. His first interaction with Rangers came last season when he netted twice for Malmo as they dumped Rangers out the Champions League qualifiers.

He is there second summer purchase after acquiring John Souttar from Hearts.
