ITV This Morning in hot water with viewers over Georgia Toffolo segment

This Morning has got itself in a little hot water with viewers who have expressed their dismay at a new segment.

Holly Willoughby was back at the helm of the ITV daytime show and was joined by Alison Hammond.

Alison has stepped in again for Phillip Schofield as he continues to test positive for coronavirus and isolates.

Monday's show also saw the start of a new series, Holiday 22.

The set of four films will see This Morning sending members of the TM family to some of the top holiday destinations for 2022.

First up was former Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo who headed to Mexico - one of the cheapest long-haul, all-inclusive destinations - where she travelled up the Yucatán Peninsula.

While there she went swimming in the Cenotes and ate beans again for the first time since her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! stint in 2017.

In the first VT on today’s show, Georgia hopped on a boat and visited Isla Mujeres, which translates to 'Island of Women', which is just off the mainland of Cancun.

There, she met a restaurant owner Javi and travelled around the 7km island with him on a golf cart, stopping off at stunning North Beach.

But many This Morning viewers felt that the segment may be a bit inappropriate as the news continues to be dominated by the energy price cap.
