ITV The Games crowns Chelcee Grimes and Wes Nelson winners

After 12 weeks of gruelling training and competition, things came to a head for the 12 participating celebrities on Friday night's edition of ITV's The Games. This was the conclusion of a week-long event which saw six men and six women put their sporting prowess to the test across a variety of events.

Going into the finale, singer-songwriter Chelcee Grimes comfortably led the women's leaderboard, ahead of Mel B's daughter, Phoenix Chi Gulzar, with the pair regularly clashing across the five episodes. As for the men, ex-Love Islander Wes Nelson headed the pack on 33 points, two ahead of actor Ryan Thomas and five clear of Harry Potter star Josh Herdman.

The first event of the concluding episode saw Phoenix triumph against Chelcee in the sport climbing, while Wes edged out Josh in the thrilling men's final. The next event was the women's weightlifting which saw actor Rebecca Sarker upset the dominant two by claiming victory.

Finally, it all came down to the 100m for both the men and women.

First up were the woman with Chelcee Grimes absolutely storming the field and winning by a huge distance - akin to the kind of victories that Usain Bolt treated us to for many years. She beat Phoenix by almost a second while Rebecca rounded out the top three.

It was a similar story for the men with Wes Nelson leaving everyone else in his wake, completing a dominant week for the 24-year old.

Both of these results cemented their positions at the top of their respective leaderboards and they were duly awarded with their gold medals. The two runners up were Ryan Thomas and Phoenix Chi Gulzar while Josh Herdman and Rebecca Sarker picked up the bronze medals.
