ITV Princess of Wales' Royal Christmas Carol service: When it is on TV and who will be there

A special carol service held at Westminster Abbey and hosted by Catherine, Princess of Wales, will air this Christmas.

The princess has held a Christmas carol service, attended by members of the royal family, each year since 2021 to thank those who have supported others throughout the year. Her first service thanked all those who helped during the pandemic effort, while last year's event focused on human connection and togetherness and was dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

This year's Together At Christmas event, pre-recorded earlier this month, was a "celebration of the golden opportunity that the birth of a new baby brings" and thanked all those who work to support babies, young children and families, according to the Royal Foundation.

Linked to Kate's Shaping Us campaign, the service showcased the hope of new life and the importance of building supportive, nurturing worlds around children and the adults in their lives, the foundation said. The service saw the world-renowned Westminster Abbey choir perform some of the nation’s most beloved carols, alongside readings and musical performances by guests including Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert.

Here's everything you need to know - including when it was recorded, when it will be on TV, who was there and which carols will be featured.

The Christmas carol service was recorded on Friday, December 8. It will be shown on ITV1 and ITV X on Christmas Eve, December 24, at 7.45pm.
