ITV Emmerdale fans label episode 'a farce' as they question 'stupid' storyline

The drama in the Dales continued on Friday (January 10) night, as fans of Emmerdale say one storyline is a "farce". Viewers took to social media to share their opinions as Marlon and Rhona's home was broken into while two strangers tried to film evidence for April.

Fans of the ITV soap have watched as Marlon's teenage daughter April went missing on Christmas Day. Since the first episode of her disappearance, the village has been on lookout for the teen and worrying scenes such as April getting into a random car caused concern for viewers.

Things took a turn when Jacob - during his first shift in A&E - was convinced that a girl who had been stabbed was April as she had her purse. Going against protocol, Jacob contacted Marlon and Rhona to inform the pair that April was dead. After a stern telling off, Jacob was less than impressed at his performance on the first day of the job.

It was tonight's episode though that left fans confused as to why a particular storyline was needed. Rhona was checking over a woman's pet cat at the vets before a man barged in anxiously demanding to be seen. After a few attempts of him trying to get Rhona's attention, she leaves the woman alone in the room to speak to this panicked man.

Viewers watched on as the woman whipped out her phone and started to video as she opened the door and made her way into Rhona and Marlon's house attached to the vets. Rhona returned to the room, confused that the cat was on its own. She noticed the open door and quickly walked into her home.

After hearing a noise upstairs, Rhona realised that the woman was in April's room, videoing everything and labelling at as a "crime scene". An upset Rhona rushes to tell her to leave, with the woman - still on video -
