ITV Emmerdale Cain Dingle's exit 'sealed' in Tom King twist - and it's not looking good

Viewers of Emmerdale are speculating that a departure for Cain Dingle may be imminent.

The character, portrayed by Jeff Hordley, first graced the soap in 2000 and quickly became a fan favourite and an iconic figure in the series.

Throughout his tenure, he's been at the centre of numerous major plotlines - from familial disputes to murder, his stint in the Dales has been anything but dull. This is particularly 'true' currently, as he stunned viewers this week by being unfaithful to his wife Moira (Natalie J Robb) while she was undergoing brain tumour surgery.

Audiences will remember that Moira was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumour earlier this year. Her husband Cain (Jeff Hordley) has been grappling with the news, and during Wednesday's emotional episode (November 20), he lost control as Moira underwent surgery.

After consuming a bottle of alcohol, he encountered Jimmy King (Nick Miles) - leading to a physical altercation, with Jimmy alleging that Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) was lying about Tom (James Chase) abusing her, reports Leeds Live.

Cain subsequently assaulted him, leaving Jimmy bruised and bloodied. However, the drama escalated when later, Cain was in the garage and Ruby (Beth Cordingly) arrived, surprised to see her brother-in-law, assuming he would be at the hospital with Moira.

"Why you in my garage", Cain asked, to which she responded: "Someone I wasn't bothered about seeing." The pair had a brief conversation before they shared a passionate kiss. In another twist, Cain and Ruby were spotted adjusting their attire, hinting they had indulged in a tryst. The plot thickened in the episode aired on Thursday (November 21).
