ITV Dancing on Ice star forced to quit series just hours before live show
Dancing On Ice professional skater Vanessa Bauer announced that she will no longer be able to skate on the ITV show due to a "devastating" injury just hours before the live show.
Vanessa is partnered with former Love Island star Chris Taylor, with the pair landing in fourth place after scoring an impressive 30 points from the judges panel during movie week.
The skater took to her Instagram story on Sunday morning (2nd February) to share the heartbreaking news. She revealed: "I'm here today with rather upsetting news. I am unfortunately not going to be able to continue on Dancing on Ice with Chris.
"That's really upsetting for me. I have trained Chris since October last year and it is always such an amazing achievement for myself to see someone else progress so much in a skill they've never done before."
She continued: "So it's been really rewarding for me to watch this whole journey for Chris [and] the way he's got better week since October and also since the live shows started. I unfortunately had a little accident backstage last week on Dancing on Ice just before the live show on Sunday."
Vanessa admitted that she "didn't realise how bad it was" until she had an MRI that showed "a completely torn ligament, grade three sprain injury and a major grade two sprain injury."
She added: "I shouldn't be skating on an injury like that and so I'm taking all of the advice from the medical professionals here, I am in very good hands."
After revealing that she'll need to go through rehab because of the severity of her injury she announced that she doesn't trust her "pain threshold", and said: "I have been skating this whole week with a lot of pain but I just didn't realise that it was such a significant injury so I didn't voice my
