ITV Dancing on Ice fans fume over 'disgraceful' result as TOWIE star Ferne McCann booted from the show
Dancing on Ice fans have been left fuming over the latest star to exit the competition.
It was announced earlier today (January 26) that contestant Josh Jones had to pull out from the competition after sustaining an injury during rehearsals. The 32-year-old comedian from Failsworth revealed on the show that he fell during a practice session and hurt his ankle.
ITV viewers had hoped that all of the current skaters would make it through to next week's show on account of Josh's departure. Unfortunately this was not the case and The Only Way Is Essex star Ferne McCann was the latest celeb to be booted off the show.
In a statement, Dancing on Ice said: "Josh Jones sustained an injury during rehearsals and had to withdraw from Dancing on Ice. Josh and Tippy's partnership will be greatly missed. We will be helping to support Josh and wish him well in his recovery."
Speaking about the incident for the first time, the 32-year-old said he was 'annoyed' by his early exit and would miss his time with Tippy.
Josh, who hosts the historical gossip podcast Dead Drama, joined Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern in the studio and said: "So we were skating and then I went over on my ankle."
He added: "And then kind of like twisted my ankle...and I'm annoyed because I've got a cold sore as well. So I've got a lump on my leg and my ankle."
Dancing on Ice watchers were not happy with the result of tonight's show and quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, to let their thoughts be known. One user, @fansvfavourites, wrote: "The fact there’s one less person and they still can’t find time for a skate off."
Another user, @Kokomo_surf, said: "Hate there's no skate off. Makes it just a popularity contest and not much about skill. Shame." While
