ITV Coronation Street's original Ryan Connor has a totally different job after quitting soap

Ben Thompson has undergone a significant transformation since his time on the show.

Ben played Ryan Connor on Coronation Street from 2006 as he was discovered by his birth parents, Nick and Wendy Neeson, due to a mix-up at the hospital. Believing Michelle Connor and Dean to be his parents due to the hospital error, the truth later emerged about his 'true' parentage. Feeling resentful towards Michelle for her ignorance of him and her knowledge of Nick and Wendy's biological son Alex Neeson, Ryan also distanced himself from his biological parents.

Fast forward to present times, Ryan has made peace with his past and is dating Daisy Midgeley, a barmaid on the street.

After originally portraying Ryan from 2006 until 2010, the character was recast upon Ryan's return. Sol Heras stepped into the role in 2012 briefly, followed by Ryan Prescott taking up the mantle in 2018, a role he continues in today.

Stepping away from the screen, Ben has turned his attention to music. He stands out as a performer in a Frank Sinatra tribute act and can be seen performing at various events including weddings, parties, and even holiday camps, reports the Mirror. His musical repertoire extends to BritPop and acoustic sets as well.

Now, it's actor Ryan Prescott who embodies Ryan Connor, having recently been central to a major plotline involving an acid attack intended for another character, which left Ryan's life changed forever.
