Coronation Street favourite Elle Mulvaney has been on the cobbles most of her life.

The actress joined the ITV soap as Amy Barlow when she was just 10-years-old in 2010, taking over from Amber Chadwick.

Corrie viewers were stunned a few weeks back when the character celebrated her 18th birthday after being introduced in 2004 as a baby.

Corrie fan Julia @OffBrandHeels commented during the episode on Twitter: "I can't believe Amy is 18 - I remember the episode when she was born."

In real life, Elle is a similar age to her TV role, at 19-years-old.

The star is from Bury and started acting through the Carol Godby Theatre Workshop, which she has attended since the age of four.

Amid Elle's new on-screen romance with character Jacob Hay, played by Jack James Ryan, she also became 'Instagram official' with her real-life boyfriend, Euan Marsden.

On Valentine's Day, the actress posted a sweet snap of the pair at her home to her thousands of followers, where they were captured sweetly gazing into each other's eyes.

The second photo saw the pair posing for the camera in post captioned "V alentines," with a pink heart.
