ITV Coronation Street's Beth actress Lisa George looks unrecognisable in new ITV show away from soap

Lisa George is best known for playing Beth Sutherland - nee Tinker - in Coronation Street but fans probably won't recognise her in another ITV show. The actress, who joined the ITV soap in 2011 and married street favourite Kirk Sutherland, is swapping the cobbles for the stage next month after she signed up to All Star Musicals.

The show sees the celebrities embark on the ultimate musical theatre masterclass and hope to be voted All Star Musical's champion with their spectacular performance. The latest batch of famous faces will be equipped with world-class mentoring from musical theatre superstars Elaine Paige OBE, Samantha Barks and Trevor Dion Nicholas before being supported by a full West End ensemble and a live orchestra for their big performance.

Joining Lisa in the line-up for the show, hosted by John Barrowman, is ITV News and Good Morning Britain's Alex Beresford, former EastEnders actress and I'm A Celebrity winner Jacqueline Jossa, wildlife presenter Michaela Strachan, James Bond actor Colin Salmon, and rugby star Danny Care.

Ahead of All Star Musical airing on April 3, ITV has released some first-look photos of the performances with Frozen, Les Miserables, 42nd Street and Hamilton among the West End shows set to be covered.

And Lisa has ditched Beth's trademark blonde locks and 80s-inspired look for a cropped black wig and kimono-style gown which looked like it could be a rendition from Cabaret.

Speaking about signing up for the show, Lisa has said: "ASM is a dream for me, both professionally and personally. The team have been so supportive and nurturing and I can't wait to take to the stage."
