Italian job for Justin Ferizaj as he signs for Frosinone Calcio in Serie A from Shamrock Rovers

Shamrock Rovers midfielder Justin Ferizaj has made a move to Serie A outfit Frosinone Calcio for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old was subject to interest from Tottenham, Blackburn Rovers and Sampdoria over the past year but has opted to sign for a club who won promotion to the Italian top division last season.

Ferizaj came through the academy at Tallaght Stadium and made his Hoops debut in June 2022 when coming off the bench in a league game against St Patrick's Athletic.

He then featured in nine games during Rovers' extended run in European competition, which saw Stephen Bradley's side reach the Europa Conference League group stages.

This season, Ferizaj has made four substitute appearances for the defending Premier Division champions, when it had been expected he would feature more prominently.

At international level, the teenager has represented his country at U-15, U-17, U-18 and U-19 grades.
