'It would be amazing' - Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell excited about Liverpool return

Liverpool have been told by a former Everton player that the return of Harvey Elliott would ‘bring the feel-good factor’ to the club.

Elliott has been sidelined with an injury since September, after he suffered a dislocated ankle in the win over Leeds United at Elland Road.

After having an operation just days after the injury, the 18-year-old has been building up his fitness ahead of making a return to the team.

Before his injury, Elliott had started three of Liverpool ’s first four Premier League matches in midfield.

Elliott made his return to action at the weekend as he featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly for Liverpool’s Under-23s against Wrexham.

The teenager scored a goal and provided an assist in the match which took place at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby.

With Liverpool back in action this weekend in the FA Cup against Cardiff City, there are rumours that Elliott could make his return to the first-team in that match.

Former Everton and Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has praised Elliott for the speed of his recovery from the injury he suffered more than four months ago.

Campbell went on to argue why Elliott returning to action would dramatically improve the atmosphere and mood around Liverpool.

“It would be amazing if Elliott makes his return this weekend. It would bring the feel-good factor to Anfield,” Campbell told Football Insider . “The Liverpool fans cannot wait just to see him back out on the pitch.
