'I hate to talk about these things' - Jurgen Klopp makes Liverpool squad admission after major fitness boost
Jurgen Klopp has reiterated his faith in his Liverpool squad to challenge on all fronts as the Reds close in on having a full quota available for selection.
The German was without the services of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane due to Africa Cup of Nations duty as his side faced Cardiff City, while Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19.
But the quartet are all set to be available when Liverpool host Leicester City on Thursday, along with Divock Origi following his return to training last week.
With Luis Diaz making his Reds debut against Cardiff, Naby Keita returning from Africa Cup of Nations duty and both Thiago Alcantara and Harvey Elliott back from injury, Klopp’s squad is looking stronger than ever.
And while outsiders might only just be realising Liverpool’s strength in depth, considering the Reds’ injury problems of the past 18 months, the German has insisted he never had any doubts about his squad as victory over the Bluebirds sees his side continue to compete on four fronts.
