"It wasn't me" Howard Donald speaks out over Howard graffiti sweeping Manchester

Take That star Howard Donald has spoken out - amid an extraordinary campaign of "Howard" graffiti sweeping Manchester. The graffiti tag has been the talk of the town in recent weeks, with the name Howard emblazoned across walls, road signs and windows.

With Manchester's most famous Howard returning to home turf this week for Take That's record-breaking run of shows at the AO Arena, the Howard tags have clearly caught his attention too.

For on Saturday, Howard shared a number of images on his social media of the "Howard" graffiti that he has spotted around Manchester.

It included pictures of the Howard tag on a brick wall, Howard in a tunnel, and Howard outside Manchester Piccadilly train station.

There was even a double Howard outside Caffe Nero that he pictured on his Instagram stories.

But Howard, 56, from Higher Openshaw, has now ruled himself OUT of responsibility for the tags.

For the Never Forget superstar captioned the series of images: "It wasn't me," and "nope not me," and then finally for good measure: "definitely not me".

The graffitti has left Mancs scratching their heads in recent weeks - with the identity of whoever is behind it remaining a mystery.

Council bosses are keen to catch the culprit, as the unsightly tag has been described as "environmental vandalism".

Coun Pat Karney, who represents Harpurhey and lives in the city centre told the MEN last month that he's making it his personal mission to see Howard's actions put to a stop.

"I've seen it, it's all over north Manchester, particularly in Harpurhey," he said. "It's nearly on every building and every wall.
