'It was absolutely disgusting': Family 'traumatised' as Jet2 Ibiza flight 'turned into party'

A man said his family were left 'traumatised' after a Jet2 flight to Ibiza they were on 'turned into a party'.

John Williams flew from Birmingham Airport to Ibiza on July 13 with his wife, son and daughter to celebrate a family birthday, Birmingham Live reports. The 50-year-old said the flight to the Spanish island was the 'worst flight' he had ever been on as he claimed his children were left 'anxious and angry' by passengers who were 'shouting, swearing and drinking'.

John claimed that after they had been in the air for around 25 minutes, around 40 people - divided into two groups - got up and started causing chaos down the aisle of the plane. He said a flight attendant on the Jet2 plane called it the 'fun bus' as passengers were stood up shouting.

John claimed some ignored safety signs to fasten seatbelts. Video captured by the Cardiff resident, which you can watch at the top of this story, appeared to show passengers gathering in the middle of the aisle while the fasten seatbelt sign was lit.

John said: "We were flying out for the weekend to celebrate my girl's 13th birthday on July 13. Unfortunately the flight out was the worst flight I have experienced in over 40 years of flying.

"My little girl was left traumatised. A flight attendant working called it a fun bus." John went on: "Over 30 passengers used the flight as a party; drinking excessively, swearing, shouting, throwing items down the aisle, blocking other passengers.

"Basically the flight attendants did nothing to stop the disruptive dangerous behaviour." John added: "Even to the point where the seat belt lights were on and still they partied and still the staff did
