Couple visit Ibiza beach club and are gobsmacked when bill turns up

Ibiza is notorious for being a pretty pricey destination.

The iconic party destination is home to plenty of luxury nightclubs and beach bars that host world-renowned DJs and deliver bottles of Champagne straight to your sunbed.

But some tourists don't realise just how expensive visiting the Spanish island can be until their bills arrive at their table – and that was definitely the case for this couple.

Federica and Giuseppe, known as My Trip to Naples (@ilmioviaggioanapoli) online, were stunned to learn that their day at a beachclub ended up costing more than their flights.

They visited Cala Bassa Beach Club, situated on Sant Josep beach, but soon wished they'd thought about budget beforehand. The Italian couple were charged more than €400 (£344) in total.

Their luxurious day out included a charge of €40 (£34) just for sun loungers, a steep €160 (£137) spent on Champagne, and an additional €200 (£172) forked out for food. The seafood paella and Iberian ham proved to be particularly expensive.

Their TikTok video documenting their travel experience has racked up more than 723,000 views and 10,000 likes. In the clip, Giuseppe added: "Something is wrong here, because I paid more to be here for a few hours than on the flight to visit the island."

People were shocked by the couple's experience and said they wouldn't be visiting. One wrote: "Exaggerated prices everywhere, travelling now is a luxury," while another said: "Thanks now I know where NOT to go."

A third revealed: "I had booked but left! Obscene! The sunbeds all without sun and to take a dip you have to step on 100 people!"
