Cardiff City are set to listen to offers made for striker James Collins when the transfer window, as per Football Insider.

The Football Insider report states that the club are preparing to sign a new centre-forward in the summer transfer window, and thus, are willing to listen to offers for Collins.

James Collins joined Cardiff City last summer on a two year deal, and went on to make 29 Championship appearances during his first campaign in the Welsh capital.

Only 13 of these came as a starter, though, and the 31-year-old managed just three league goals.

With reports of Collins potentially being let go, we asked three of our writers here at FLW for their verdict on the news.

It’s something that would make sense.

Collins has struggled to settle at Cardiff and the change in manager hasn’t helped him either.

He was brought in as McCarthy’s signing and then hasn’t really had much of a look-in under Morison.

Cardiff’s FLW fan pundit admitted to us recently that they felt Collins had been one of the major disappointments of this season.

When that kind of thing is being said, it’s a long way back.

So, it makes sense to look to move the striker on and mark it as a roll of the dice that didn’t pay off.

Collins still has a lot to give at the EFL, it just makes sense for him to search for that fresh opportunity now rather than in another 12 months when his contract expires.
