Isthmian League round-up: Welling United a point from safety after victory at Premier Division drop rivals Potters Bar, while Sittingbourne, Faversham and Deal all beaten in South East play-off race

Welling United boosted their Isthmian Premier survival hopes with a key victory at relegation rivals Potters Bar.

Ryan Maxwell’s side are just a point from safety, with a game in hand, following a 3-2 away victory.

Lekan Majoyegbe and Sam Smith gave the Wings a two-goal lead in a bottom-four scrap but the hosts hit back through Damaray Anyadike and Brandon Adams.

It was Welling’s day, however, as Jamie Reynolds scored an 83rd-minute winner, moments after the hosts had levelled.

All the goals came in the first half as Chatham Town consolidated fourth spot with a 3-0 home win over bottom side Canvey Island.

Nile Ranger and Matt Macarthur struck in quick succession to put the hosts in charge, and ex-Newcastle man Ranger added his second shortly before the break.

Chatham have opened up a five-point cushion in the race for a play-off spot after sixth-placed Dartford drew 2-2 at leaders Folkestone.

Ramsgate’s slim hopes of a top-five finish are all but over after a 4-2 home defeat by Burgess Hill in a battle of last season’s promoted sides.

Rams were caught cold by a first-minute opener from ex-Gillingham winger Chris Whelpdale and George Vorster made it two before Rolando Onu replied.

Kaan Bennett and Vorster’s second moved the visitors clear, with Greg Cundle scoring an injury-time consolation.

Eight-placed Cray Wanderers won 3-0 at Whitehawk thanks to goals from Alex Hernandez, Ola Ogunwamide and Max Fiddes.

Sittingbourne were beaten by an Alfie Rogers double - including a second-half penalty - in a 2-0 defeat at Eastbourne Town.

Faversham, in sixth, were edged 2-1 at second-placed
