Is ITV's National Lottery's New Year's Eve Big Bash recorded live?

ITV will once again host a glitzy New Year's Eve party this year.

The National Lottery's New Year's Eve Big Bash returns to the channel, with hosts Alesha Dixon and Jason Manford taking a look back at the cultural highlights and key moments of 2023.

The two-hour long show, filmed at the OVO Arena Wembley, kicks off at 6pm, taking place before the big countdown to midnight.

ITV said the show is the "centrepiece of ITV’s New Year’s TV schedule celebrating and reflecting on the moments that shaped 2023 through live music, exciting performances and heart-warming surprises".

The presenters will be taking viewers through some of the amazing moments and key sporting events that had an impact on the UK throughout the year, such as the 75th anniversary of Windrush and the UK’s hosting of Eurovision. There will also be musical performances and special one-off collaborations to mark the start of 2024, including surprise contributions from Idris Elba and Olivia Colman.

ITV says guests set to join Jason and Alesha include Sir Mo Farah and Brian Cox. Music will be provided by pop legends Busted and Take That as well as Paloma Faith and Becky Hill. ITV has also promised a very special Masked Singer reveal and a Barbie Lip Sync battle featuring queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

Last year, performers Tom Grennan, Adam Lambert and Joel Corry joined Jason and Alesha for the party. There was also performances from singers Raye and Katherine Jenkins, and a special show from Cirque se Solei.
