Is Israel competing in the Paris Olympics 2024?

Israel will compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, from July 26 to August 11. This will be the nation's 18th appearance at the Summer Olympics.

Events include football, archery, swimming, gymnastics, judo, fencing and cycling. Peter Paltchik will represent Israel at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in judo in the men's 100 kg event on 1 August 2024, in the mixed team event and will be the flag bearer of his country with the female Olympic swimmer Andrea Murez.

Since Israel's debut in 1952, Israeli athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, other than the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. There will reportedly be strengthened reinforcements at this year's Games in response to calls for mass demonstrations in support of Palestine following MP's attempts to block Israeli athletes from the event.

Tensions and speculation grew on whether the Israel men's football team would be allowed to participate due to the ongoing war. However the team were able to take part at the Olympics after a decision on whether to agree to Palestine’s call to suspend the federation was delayed by FIFA to allow more time for consideration, PA has reported.

Israel has 88 athletes competing in Paris, in 16 different sports, including 54 men and 34 women. Eighteen of the men are from the football team.
