Ireland's Euro 2024 qualifier away to France switched to Paris des Princes
The Republic of Ireland's Euro 2024 qualifier away to France has been moved to Parc des Princes due to a clash with the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
France typically play their home games at Stade de France in St Denis but the venue is unavailable due to the Rugby World Cup, which commences on 8 September, with the hosts playing New Zealand on the opening night.
Stephen Kenny's side face France in Paris the night before on Thursday 7 September.
The Parc des Princes, home of the French national team until the completion of Stade de France in 1998 and still home to Paris Saint-Germain, holds a capacity of 47,929, more than 30,000 lower that the stadium at St Denis.
Ireland last played a competitive fixture at the venue in the 1982 World Cup qualifiers in October 1980 with Eoin Hand's side losing 2-0.
Kenny has his own experience of the venue, having managed Derry City in an away UEFA Cup tie against Paris Saint-Germain in 2006.
