Ireland reach three rowing finals, illness forces withdrawal of Puspure and Hyde
Three Irish boats have sealed final places at the European Championships in Munich, with Aoife Casey through to the A final of the lightweight women's single sculls.
Competing in the opening heat, Casey finished first in a time of 8:15.73, just over four seconds ahead of Italian Stefania Buttignon.
In a tight finish to their lightweight women's double sculls, Lydia Heaphy and Margaret Cremen came home in front of Switzerland. The Irish duo's time of 7:39.15 was just 0.03 faster.

Because of illness, Sanita Puspure and Zoe Hyde had to withdraw from their double sculls event.
That had a knock-on effect, with Ireland unable then to take part in the women's eight, where Leah O’Regan (cox), Fiona Murtagh, Emily Hegarty, Eimear Lambe, Tara Hanlon, Aifric Keogh, Natalie Long, were also duo to compete.
